The Melanesian Institute, established in 1969, has been a beacon of service to the people of Papua New Guinea and beyond. Its primary focus has been on providing comprehensive Cultural Orientation Courses. 

COCs have proven invaluable for church institutions, missionary societies, as well as individuals and organizations seeking a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of Papua New Guinea.
